Can your battery-operated home smoke detector notify help in the event of an actual fire emergency?
The ADT Security monitored home smoke detector can.
Upon detecting smoke or unusually high temperatures, the detector sounds the home fire alarm system to warn you of a possible fire while simultaneously alerting ADT Security to notify assistance*.

SMOKE/HEAT DETECTOR
Detects smoke or unusually high temperature and sounds an alarm to warn your family of a possible fire while alerting ADT Security to notify assistance.
HEAT DETECTOR
The heat sensor is designed for use where smoke detection is not desired. It detects dangerously high temperatures and triggers the alarm to alert your family, while automatically notifying the ADT Security monitoring center to call for assistance.
There are many BENEFITS to installing the monitored ADT Security home smoke detector
- They provide the best early warning fire detection.
- Once smoke is detected, the fire alarm sounds and a signal is sent to ADT Security. ADT Security, in turn, notifies the fire department, then calls you to verify the alarm*.
- You have peace of mind whether you are at home, at work, out for the evening or unable to reach the phone.
- The ADT monitored smoke/heat detector could save you up to 20% on your homeowners insurance.
Carbon Monoxide Detector
The ADT monitored Carbon Monoxide Detector can warn you and your family when dangerous levels of carbon monoxide are present in your home. At the same time, the carbon monoxide detector is also alerting ADT Security to the alarm.
The carbon monoxide detector is important to add to the list of security equipment you install in your home. And most importantly, installing monitored home security equipment such as the carbon monoxide detector should be at the top of your list. Since carbon monoxide is the silent killer, what better way to help protect your family than with a CO detector that sounds an audible alarm when high levels of carbon monoxide are detected?
ADT Security recommends the installation of smoke detectors that equal or exceed the recommended standards the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). The NFPA recommends installation of a smoke detector (which may include battery-operated, non-monitored detectors) on every floor of your home (including the basement), outside every sleeping area, and in every room where people sleep. NFPA recommends installation of strobe lights, in addition to sirens, for people who have hearing impairments. More information regarding recommended fire protection is available at www.nfpa.org or by writing the NFPA at 1 Battery March Park, Quincy, MA 02269. You should also consult your local fire department or other local authority to determine any legal requirements regarding some detectors in your jurisdiction.
*Not available in commercial or multifamily installations. In some jurisdictions, the verification call is made prior to calling the fire department.
